Say I started up a shop and offered customers the ability to pay with their credit or debit cards... Does anybody know roughly how much I get charged in fees from the card processing company and the actual card company themselves?

Just trying to gain more knowledge of how this works. Thanks!

This is actually a great question I've been wondering about for quite sometime myself. I've always planned on opening an online shop, and plan on doing it sooner than later now. I'm also interested on any information that someone in this field can offer to us. I do plan on using PayPal as another secured payment method, which those fees I know. However, the actual processing of credit/debit cards via online sales I'm not familiar with.

I'd appreciate any information on this topic as well.

    Thanks.

I was trying to type this in Google and the autoform filled in feeds instead of
fees. Oh well. I still found a great article on this topic. This article
goes into the detail of every fee. I never even knew this!!! You see
this is why I stick with paypal.

In highschool I worked for a small shop. She chose to make her customers spend $10.00 in order to use their credit cards. The fees were .50cents per transaction. I suppose it is different with each credit card company, but I think it should be somewhere near .50 cents. I don't think it would be any more than one dollar.
