Do you think that, Windows 8 will be better than the other?
I'm not sure, but I saw a video with it, but looked really complicated, but looked awesome and a nice design. I don't know if I'm just gonna buy a Windows 7 PC, or Windows 8.. I hope it will be worth the money...

It seems like this is a really hot debate on forums nowadays. Although I've read a lot of people complaining about the layout of the new windows, my approach is quite different in this regard. As I've been a user of Windows Phone for quite some time now, I do now how great it is to have all sorts of useful stuff integrated right on the desktop. It makes life so much easier and faster. Especially the email account integration on the desktop is quite an innovation for me. And one point that I'd like make here is that mostly when the new windows is about to hit the market, people are yelling against it. So what I mean is that you can not make your firm opinion about anything until you get to use it. The last time I checked, Microsoft was the greatest contributor of this industry and I certainly can not expect them to ruin the party for themselves releasing something that is most likely to disappoint the users. In my personal opinion, its just a matter of time before all of us start to like new innovations in Windows 8 and soon enough it will out number the users of any other windows. This certainly is going to be the greatest windows of all time. But its just my opinion, others may differ with me. Discussions and arguments are more than welcome.

I am already using Windows 8. It's very different from the previous Windows versions. This is because the main target of Windows 8 is the tablet and the touch screen. So it's not quite right to compare Windows 8 to, say, Windows 7 which was designed for the desktop.

I can't see myself using it. I used the consumer preview for a couple months and wasn't impressed at all. The fact that the Metro UI isn't optional is a dealbreaker; it's just too clunky for a traditional interface. Switching to a touchscreen monitor wouldn't solve the problem even if it was affordable, due to the scale of the screen/interface, and there's still dozens of tasks where a finger isn't a suitable substitute for a mouse anyways.

I too have used the consumer's preview of windows 8 and it is good but not outstanding. It is right that windows 8 will be more suitable for modern day tablets and it's new desktop style and navigation tools proves it. I've used it for a couple of days just to try it out but I could stand how complicated it is. I think when it will be finally release late this year, it would take me a year more to switch from 7 to 8.

Personally I think not because so far, WIndows 7 is the best as it's fast, sleek and very useful.

I really can't see myself making the switch once the full release comes out. I don't plan on owning a tablet, so I'll stick with 7 until a new desktop-styles OS releases. I'm not sure if I'd be able to adjust to not having a start menu.

To answer the question, I don't think Windows 8 will be better or worse than 7. It's just designed differently, and that makes it difficult to compare it to anything else.

As I plan on staying on desktop I see no use for it - I hate changing operating systems at the best of times and have the motto if it aint broke dont fix it. My big concern will be that other software producers will stop supporting older versions like 7 - I have run into this problem before. If they stop supporting 7 then I think I and a lot of other people will be forced to upgrade even if we hate 8.

I don't really care about Windows 8 because I will not buy it, in fact I never buy Operating System upgrades and there is a very simple reason for this.

Every time I buy a new computer, it comes with the default OS that I use till the end, when time to buy a new computer comes up, and the new computer comes with the latest OS.

Until Windows Vista, every new computer used to come with the OEM CD to reinstall the OS, Vista came in a hidden partition as I suppose Windows 7 and Windows 8 too.

With this trick it's hard to use the OS with a computer other than the one it came from, but Vista was either way an operating system I would like to use in other computer, in fact I spent a hard time downgrading my computer then.

Back to the question, next time when I buy a computer it will come with Windows 8 for sure, but that doesn't mean that if dislikes I wouldn't try to downgrade it again.

Ever since I upgraded my PC to windows 8, my desktop has been so much faster. The entire OS is lighter than windows 8 and I like the metro UI because apps are full screen and unique. Microsoft still included the original desktop which was a great idea for normal users who like the the simple icons. At the moment, I am using the beta version of windows 8 and the new features provide better multitasking and smoothness. The corners idea was great for desktop computers. The entire OS is is userfriendly and will continue to use it as my main OS on my computer.
