Firstly, Matesgate was originally set up on a test site in October 2010. In January 2011, we found there was sufficient demand to get our own domain and hosting which we did. We chose the .biz name for two reasons: firstly, it expresses the nature of the site as a serious and viable business model and secondly, somebody beat me to the .com in order to try to get me to buy it off them (which wasn't going to work!).

The whole ethos of the site is that it is owned by the members and 90% of the site revenue is distributed to them. 10% is retained for costs & development which, at this stage, doesn't even cover hosting costs so I subsidise those costs from my own pocket. The members are effectively shareholders in the business with the number of credits reflecting the number of "shares" they hold.

With regards to comments about the layout of the site, some like it and some don't. The layout itself is not the most important consideration right now as we are continuing to develop the business and as it grows, the development pot will grow too and we can "prettify" the site later. The most important consideration now is that it is functional and that members earn money - the site functions well and members earn money! We are also constrained by the limitations of the script we currently use and obviously the lack of sufficient development funds to improve it but as I've already said, it's more important that monies are distributed to the members than having a pretty site right now.

I don't understand the comment that it looks like a scam site. Most scam sites I have seen are very slick and very convincing otherwise they would be unable to perpetuate their scam so with the greatest respect to the person who made that comment, I would say it is utter nonsense as comments go.

Matesgate is certainly not a scam site - we pay active members every month. Last month's payments ranged from 1 cent to $112. There are a number of payment proofs uploaded by members. A couple of links to these are

You can find plenty more on the site itself if you want to take a look.

My suggestion is this: it's free to join the site and it is open to anyone anywhere in the world so why not join, chat with other members and so on, so why not join (don't enter your PayPal details if you're worried) and see what other members have to say. Then, when you are happy that we are a legitimate and well-intentioned site you can put the effort in required to earn some money and provide suggestions on improving the site, the features etc. If you're not happy, delete your account!

My final response is to UmiNoor's post. All I can say is that if you have only put enough effort in to earn 4000 credits then you haven't even scratched the surface of the potential of the site. It's possible to earn hundreds of thousands of credits in a day if you know how to do it - you just need to read the FAQs on the site!

If you have any further questions, please feel free to go to the site and send me a message via the "Contact Us" link at the bottom of the page - I will be happy to address any questions.
I have visited your site and I have noticed that it is just like a gateway to other moneymaking sites. From PTCs, Surveys, Investments. We get credits by joining under your referral links from your site. How much does one credits is equivalent in cash? Thanks for responding here by the way.

I think this site sounds intriguing. I haven't jumped over to check it out yet, but that is going to be my next stop. Is it like a forum where specific topics are discussed or is it a social network in the same type of way Facebook is? Silly questions since I am going to jump over there soon, but maybe people can shed some light here.

Hi Paul. I wasn't sure how else to reach you, but I have tried to sign up for your site and the page just loads and loads. I can't seem to get registered. Are you doing site maintenance or was the site down? I am interested in trying out your site, but I wasn't sure if there were issues with the site as of right now.

    Try again, it should work.

Also, in response to you're other post, it's a social network, you can add friends, send PMs, post blogs, post links, upload videos and photos etc... then they made their own features where you sign-up to other sites and earn more money, works quite well.

It sounds pretty cool. Do you get points for referrals? Because I saw a place to say who referred me and I was going to put you down, but I didn't know your referral link. If you get points for it, go ahead and send me a PM and I'll use you. This sounds like a really cool place to try out and I'm always interested in new forms of making money, so I'd like to give it a try. Thank you for bringing it up here!

In referrer you can just put "wjack" (without quotations), I get a certain amount of points each month, depending on how many points you've earned, it is definitely a great way to earn.

Ok I FINALLY got registered on the site. I have to say I'm pretty disappointed. I use Firefox, I already know from quite a few people that they think it's slow and out of date, but I like it. I could not get onto this site unless I used Explorer. That's really frustrating and honestly lowers my earning potential. I absolutely HATE sites that force me to use another browser just to log in.

Browsers that I know it works on from my own experience, are Google Chrome and Internet Explorer 9, I'm not too sure about Firefox, though I am aware users do use that browser, whether they use it for MatesGate or not, is beyond me. Unfortunately, those concerns would have to be PMed to the admin himself to sort out.

It is certainly improving each month, and it just keeps getting better and better.
