Why don't you try Wordpress or Blogger? They are free. They are steady. They don't look like they are going to close shop any time soon.

Good advice. You should always look for sites that have been running for a few years(atleast) without any problems. Have good reviews and are easy to use. You don't want to get settled in a site and the next thing you know they're offline for good. Pick places that have stood the test of time.
