Marketing strategies are timeless. The tools have changed, but the concepts are the same.

To be honest there is so much free information out there that anything you read in a marketing book is probably something that you've already read someone else. I wouldn't waste my money. I guarantee you that anything you need to know about marketing can be found on the internet.

While this is a bit true to a point, I still kinda disagree. Check the books I've recommended on the previous page. All of them are unique and the information I found in them was priceless. Just the experience of those who wrote them is enough to guarantee for a good read. There are of course millions of "How To" and "Marketing 101" which contain the same information 80% of the time, but they don't come close to the level of David Oglivy or Og Mandino.

I agree. I have learned a lot of fantastic business and marketing information from books, especially the older books. Marketing strategies are timeless, but the tools used evolve over time. Many of the marketing tactics used in the internet marketing niche were mainstays for the direct marketing industry.
