I used Tune-Up Utilities for years which worked great for optimizing the PC and the internet. However, recently I discovered anew application and am now using this instead: AShampoo win Optimizer 9' and Ashampoo Internet Excelerator 3. They are amazing programs and I find that they have a lot more options then Tune-up utilities. Also, they give you a full 40 days free trial to test each program!

I am not certain if you are still looking, but I felt bad that no one responded to this post, so I thought I would weigh in on it. The best PC optimization program I have personally used is an application called CCleaner. We in IT circles lovingly refer to it as "Crap Cleaner". It's completely free, and it works wonders on even the oldest of systems.

I have been using Advanced System Care ever since it first came out. It works and it's free. I also use Game Booster. It's not just for playing games. You can use it to shut down many background services which you do not need. The less you have running in the background, the faster your computer should go.

The last time I used Game Booster (2010), it gave me a BSOD because it didn't like my NIC driver. Have they improved it at all since then? It seemed like a nice little program, but it proved itself unable to play with others on my PC at the time.

I have used Tune up for two years but I have started to use Advance System Care Pro this year and so far it is working really good for me. It's just that Tune Up offers a ot more features than Advance System Care.

This, it doesn't change anything about your system it just clears all the nonsense out. There is a registry cleaner as well which is pretty good.

As Microsuck said, I love CCleaner the reason is because it's so efficient and best of all, it's free! Here's a quick tip, never pay for software.

Then you should give Game Booster another try. I have been using it since nearly the first time it was released. Now it's at version three. Perhaps they have already fixed those bugs which gave you that BSOD.

I like to use a piece of software called 'Gamebox' Google it, with a click of a button it blocks out my least used applications for the best optimization whenever i need it.
It is truly a great piece of software and is completely free from what i remember
