I have a site that I have been developing for years but its domain extension is .asia. its still pr2 but it started since 2009.
my delima is that my site is something.asia yet an existing site which was develop long before I did mine has something.com. should I move it to .com or should I retain?

Move it to a .com, by using a .asia extension as your main site you are limiting your audience because you won't get any traffic from search engines that aren't from people living in asia, with a .com you will receive worldwide traffic from search engines.

Well, you can keep it, move to the new .com domain or run both. I'd go with moving it to .com and doing a full 301 redirect on it. It shouldn't cost you anything in terms of traffic/SEO, since the redirect won't let the site have errors and 404s.

Yeah, I'm with the above about getting yourself a .com

If you're site is a potential money maker, I would move to a .com as soon as possible

I agree with Dexter...If the site is a money maker, then definitely get a .com

Try to move it to .com, or at least .org/.net.

By using only .asia you're limiting your growth and audience. Good luck!

To be honest, the realistic fact is that most people never even know of .asia existing. That right there should tell you that you're cutting yourself off dramatically from potential business and you should move away from it asap.

Almost all .coms are actually taken. This niche is really a money maker that lots of us are wanting to take a bite of that market. this is about a city in asia. do you also recommend a domain with hypen?

you should move it to a .com or .net or even a .org if possible. if all of them are taken, then sorry you're out of luck but .asia just seems weird for me to type in. :/

If you can get the exact name for the dot com, go for it.

It's pretty easy send your actual traffic to the new domain, and your PR. In fact using a COM extension may help you to improve your rank as well.

Certainly, NET and ORG are good extensions too, but and INFO of BIZ domain may have better impact on a marketing strategy than ASIA because many people associate China with Asia for obvious reasons, and sadly there are many Chinese-related scam sites that may affect the perception of people towards a website with such a extension.
