As of the moment Google is dominating in the search engine area. Search engine=Google. It has even been used as a term. Google something, Google it, etc.. Also Google is not just sitting idly not keeping up with the times. They also are changing in order to keep people using them as a primary search engine.

Neither. Both of them have already been around forever and I can't see them going much further. If I had to choose id say yahoo has more potential since Googles already stuck their nose into everything.

Google is the biggest and most popular search engine at the moment, and I think it will stay that way. Unless another search engine brings out some super awesome amazing feature, then Google will stay.

Yahoo was older than Google. Back in late 1990s, I noticed Google search results were almost identical to Yahoo's. I don't know how Google become more popular, maybe it is because their marketing strategy. I was in fact using Yahoo for searching back then. The only reason I switched is because most browsers seem to use Google search as default in their tool bar, and I don't really go to Google.com or yahoo.com to search, I simply fill the blank in the tool bar search box, and it is more convenient for me. Although right now you have the option to change the default search in the browser, I have already got used to using Google. I do not think it is better. You can compare searching results in Google, Yahoo, Bing, and you will notice no major difference.

I don't see a web-search without Google! When you test Google against other Search Engines, using the same keyword, then you wouldn't have to debate anymore. It is Google for serious online research.
