When did you get your first flash drive?
How big was the capacity of it?
    How much was it?

I spent about $170 USD on a 256MB Kingston Flash drive back in 2002.
It was bought for CS101 class lol. Back then the a few people I know it called it key chain drive, because we really put it on a key chain. It was convient to carry it around.

It is still working, just the outside is really worn out and I can hardly read the word - Kingston. It is USB 2.0, so the speed is quite good. :P It was big enough for my entire university years. Most files I stored on it were files from Word, Excel, and Power Point. On occasion I had a few photos.

Here is a photo of it.

I also remember the next step up - 512MB was $500, and the top of the line - 1GB was $1,000 USD.

Ah Vash my first flash drive cost like $30 and barely held anything on it. I also lost it, or someone walked away with it 2 weeks after I bought it. I sure hate when that happens.

Mine was around $ 36.68 for a 1GB pen drive, in my country. All made possible by hard-bargaining.

The very first flash drive I got was a present. It was given to me by my internet service provider because I had referred the most new users to them in the area. The capacity was just 1Gb. The next two flash drives I got were given to me by my son. Actually he was giving me the files for some operating systems and also World of Warcraft. However, I didn't have any space to put them in my hard drive, so he gave the flash drives to me as well. They were 4Gb and 8Gb. I am looking forward to buying my own flash drive. The 32Gb ones are now available for about 35usd here.

I held out before buying mine. I bought it in 2003 at university for $27. I remember it only held 2GB and have never had to buy another one. Wow, it's almost been 10 years and 2 GB was all I needed. It was such a step up from floppy disks.

I bought my first USB flash drive back in 2007 or 2008, don't remember exactly, a Kingstone 1GB memory stick that cost me around $13 USD.

I didn't know about the existence of 256MB drives until I found one lost at a nearby park about two years ago.

lol crazy price. You could now buy a refurbish laptop with that price nowadays. I do have about 2gb of usb flash, it isn't so big as the new ones that exist on the market but I just bought it around $4.

It was a new thing back then. Everyone was using floppy drive. It was a huge step up just to have anything bigger than 1.44MB storage lol. I know there was another form of "thicker" floppy called Zip Drive which requires special drive to read, and they came in 100MB and 250MB but it was never popular since most computers don't have the drive to read it. Flash drive was the replacement for floppy and today it still is.
