Do you pay a lot to market your business? I am one who will typically use low cost or no cost options in order to promote my business. Thus far I have not had much trouble promoting my business

I have seen people use a combination of paying to be listed in trade publications, white pages, etc, with printing business cards, flyers and brochures to leave around. The costs do not have to be huge for these sorts of things. If you want to have a splashy event like a grand inauguration of your shop with a local celebrity to cut the ribbon and a brass band playing in the background, then of course you have to pay a lot!
Many people will do anything to gain traffic and sales. The saying goes "spend money to make money"
Lots of people spend lots on marketing their business especially if it is new and has just started out. You need that extra push.
If anyone need PR6-9 links then message me!
I have tried advertising and found that it is expensive and brings in very little if any business, so i gave up on that a long time ago. I find that telemarketing B2C is effective. However it all depends on the business you are in as to what works well and what is cost effective.

After many unsuccessful attempts to combine pay and unpaid online promotion strategies, I'm looking back to old-time offline advertising methods that worked for me in the past, hoping they work for marketing effectively my business online.
There are a number of free ad sites where you can post sort ads to promote your business. This includes the new freemarketsite.com, gumtree, freeads, etc. They have a sizeable audience.
I am going to try these free ads and if anyone is interested i will let you know the outcomes
I don't like to pay anything for marketing, I prefer to do it all myself, but once I am making a living from my websites I may change my mind.
I have never - and probably will never - pay for any kind of marketing, especially not advertising. There's no real need to unless you're in a business that's horrifically competitive or relies on constant sales. Or, of course, if you don't have the time yourself. I guess that's the only reason I'd pay for it - to get someone else to do something I'd do myself.
That said, I don't market much anyway. I'm not a fan of the whole process so I avoid it if I can and let customers/visitors come naturally from word of mouth or whatever.
i think the best way to promote your business and sales is Advertising.in both ways online and offline.
