For those of you who consider yourself businessmen (or women) what first attracted you to the business world? For me it was a somewhat childish idea that I could do something to really impact or change the world through business and the feeling I get in a professional environment. How and when did you know you wanted to be in business?

The idea of being your own boss made me decide to start a small online business. In this way I won't get irritated by orders and also I can work with the time of my choice. I think this is important because when Im in the mood to work, I always get the best outcomes on any projects I made.

I am always an odd man out. Besides that I also have this rebellious nature which makes it difficult for me to work for anybody for long. That's the main attraction of being in business, for me. I create my own product. I offer my style of service. I set my own price. I pick my customers. I make as much money as I want. I rest when I want to.

Freedom of choice. That's the true attraction of business, for me.

For me was the inability to find a job in my expertise area with flexible working hours. In fact, by the time I started my first business it was nearly impossible find any kind of job offering flexibility and overtime the 40-hour week turned into 48 or more, not fitting my time needs.

And this is what I like about my business; I can choose any time of the day to work on it and I can leave it aside for one or several days if needed, being unnoticed for my clients and not interfering with performance of my service.

For me it was using your own mind and decisions to be responsible for your own pay packet and not having to be constantly under instruction from someone else. Destiny in your own hands and all that. Also there are the obvious benefits of work your own hours etc but that can also work against you if you are not disciplined enough to actually take action.

I enjoy being free and making my own schedule. I enjoy not waking up every morning at 6:30 AM to go to work. I enjoy doing what I like, choosing the projects I want to do, and making my own policies. I enjoy building something and watch it grow before my eyes and I enjoy getting a good group of people together so we could work on the same project and help each other. I always wanted to have my own business and I don't regret nothing, not even the hard parts.

I decided to start my own business to avoid being a single mum stuck relying on the state for benefits. I realise there are many people who have no choice but to do this but I am fortunate enough to have qualifications and experience I can use in a business of my own.

I decided to become a business owner because got tired of working for other people. I wanted control over my financial future and work schedule. I was also tired of working for less than honest people.

I love the idea of just being independent and free. It can take a toll on you when you're stuck in the same ball and chain all your life. It just didn't work for me. I like the idea of being able to make the rules and be the creative genius behind a business. My family is also very business driven and I know this has rubbed off on me.

I've always been interested in business, ever since I was a kid. I like to venture out on new ideas and investments.. see where it takes me. When I was young I was always looking to make a buck; I'd have lemonade stands, take recycling to the depot for cash in return, do yard work, etc. I find you have a lot of freedom as an entrepreneur; you can go however you like and you can shape your business how YOU want to, rather than working under someone else and doing what THEY want you to do. That's why I like commerce/business.
