I see some quite popular forums have the following ads.
    1. text form of Google Adsense ads within the first post of every thread.
    2. a banner ad between the first and the second post in every thread.

While I believe these ads placement get most real impression, do you think they might annoy most users?

First off, ANY ads annoy visitors. Intrusive or not. It's not a question of if, but how much will it annoy them. Just try to be as "out of the way" as possible with your ad placement.

Those type of forum ads don't really bother me. It could be because I have grown accustomed to them. What I hate are the brightly colored ads with moving characters. That annoys the heck out of me.

Ads are always in your face and placed in the most stupidest of places plashed around the web. Create articles and blogs with quality content about a product or service people are actually actively searching for on the internet and you'll be dodging the bullet of annoyance. People end up on your page to read about what you have to say and they will stay and absorb that information. Not many people click on ads that are placed in random places around the web. Let them search for your article, don't shove it under their noses.

Ads between posts don't annoy me either, however I know by experience that people who hang around a forum use to ignore those ads overtime whether they consider them annoying or not, but probably truly annoying if they mislead people or drive people to click on them by mistake.

Having ads that are being ignored makes not much sense and make questionable the time invested in the implementation.

I would say that no that is not a bad placement. I am used to them personally and do not get annoyed by them. The only time ads annoy me is when you go to a site and it is more ads then content. If I have to scroll to see any kind of content, I don't always scroll to read it. But then again, sites with too many ads up top are penalized by Google too.

I am much more used to ads as well, specially because I know exactly why they are there. Before I ever started blogging, I did find them annoying. I also worried about it cheapening the look of my blog, and make people question the legitimacy of my site. However, it hasn't really had that affect. Just be cautious of placement, and don't overdo it. Try to make the ads fit in with the general aesthetic of your blog. But I think people are just used to it by now. You can't really go to any website and not see some form of advertisement.

I don't bother as long as there is no popup ads that will from time to time come out. It would be the most annoying one if it abruptly covers the whole screen of your monitor.

Do you people actually click on these types of ads?

    Which one bothers you less?
The one inside the first post of every thread, or the one between the first post and the second post? Which one is more noticeable and more likely to be clicked by you?

Aggressive ad placement will not only annoy visitors, but if the advertisers are getting charged for clicks on traffic that's not converting for them (accidental clicks from your site), the advertiser can notice this and block you.
