Unfortunately, the state of the economy is effecting everyone - nobody seems to be spending money. My suggestion is to cut back on unnecessary expenses - you may think you don't have any but if you honestly go over your outgoings you will find some, if they are small they all add up.

I would also look after past clients - maybe send them an email/newsletter reminding them who you are and showing off your latest products. You need to work out where your past business has come from and remind people who you are. Social marketing, if you don't do it already, may also help although I am not well informed on your area of business. Get yourself a Facebook page and a blog if you haven't already. Look for blogs in your area of business and add comments to the mos popular posts - with a link back to your site.

Check out the competition - see what they are doing and whether they are doing anything you could consider implementing in your own business. I wish you lots of luck and hope you see a change in fortune soon.

Is this a totally new business? If that is the case, then a lot of groundwork needs to be done.

The product is not exactly something which every Tom, **** and Harry would buy. It's a specialized kind of equipment, so the marketing must be very narrowly focused. Start by making a list of all the people who use such a product. Create a survey format and go to each user to get their input.

This will serve two purposes. One, it gives you an idea of what the users think about the product. Two, it's an indirect way of promoting yourself.

When you started the business, did you create a business plan? How long have you been operating your business. A lot of information is needed to really come up with an answer. Have you been successful exporting the rotary dryers up until now? If you have struggled for some time and your business is losing money, you have to ask yourself if you can afford to keep it running. Sometimes you have to cut your losses and sell your business. If your business does not have any value on the open market, you might be able to sell your supplies to reduce your debt or make a little money before closing up shop.

With a unique and brand product, I would start by educating people on what rotary dryers and fertilizer granulators are, publishing articles on how they can be beneficial for the potential client and useful information on this topic.

Then run online and offline advertising, joining to farming-related forums to spread the word and approaching to industries. small companies and people who might be interested in your product either sending a promotional brochure or a sales letter.

All of this can take some time to produce money, and may need extra investment but you have the option to give up or go ahead. In some more years these implements may turn into a profitable niche in which you are pioneering.

You need to find a way to get some clients, without any business you don't have a business.

True, economic conditions have tightened. This might be the time for you to consider adding complementary products and or services to your range to boost sales. Ask your existing customers what they would like to see you add. Get some advice from your customers and have a look around at what the opposition locally and abroad are doing!
